Covid-19 has thrust all of us into a new “normal” filled with unique challenges; working from home, studying from home, eating from home, exercising from home, vacationing from home, and well you get it. With the anxiety and stress of work, life, and liberty all hanging in the balance, self care is important now, more than ever. That is why we have put together a list of our team’s favorite quarantine habits to help you lock down covid before it locks you down 😤 💯
1.) Limit Screen Time
Look we have everything from Netflix to Starz subscriptions, but try finding other ways to entertain yourself after a long day of zoom calls. Start a new hobby or learn a new skill that gets your eyes off of the screen!
2.) Home Workouts
Home weight sets are hard to come by right now but body weight workouts can still get you into an aerobic or anaerobic zone. Develop a routine you'll want to stick with even after gyms reopen!
3.) Plan Your Day
Take a few extra moments in the mornings to visualize your day and write out a plan of attack. Enjoy the sense of purpose the list brings; stick to it and see your productivity and mood start to improve.
4.) Dining at Home
We don’t know about you, but we have been craving comfort food. But comfort food can be healthy too - spend a Sunday/Monday planning your meals for the week and make sure to include delicious whole foods in your diet. Try our Jollof or Suya recipe if you'd like a healthy little taste of Nigeria. 🇳🇬
5.) Say No to Workaholism
Working from home shouldn’t mean always working. Make sure you are setting hard boundaries and limiting your working hours to a manageable level. Those emails can wait, your mental health can’t.
Build the habit of mindfulness into your daily routine by finding the stillness required to let go of your day and of the noisy world around you. A clear head will help you find peace and balance in the chaos.
Remember, you don't have to do it all, even one of these tips will help you live a more balanced life! If you want to take your mood and energy to the next level make sure you order yourself some of our wholesome, plant-based kola energy drinks.
